Bin it, don't sling it.

A few Mum's and their kids were flyer-ing outside Tesco's advertising a community litter pick in Amersham, the same afternoon I was sampling Costa's ice blended drinks. Got chatting to the Mum's and ever one to 'get involved' I went a long to give a couple of hours of my time to help clear up Amersham and show that people from Costa will get involved, we donated bin bags and disposable gloves for the litter pickers.
One of the Mum's took me along with her to where she was collecting, there were some random stuff in the fields behind Old Amersham. We found a car battery, old clothes, a metal stand of some kind, loads of drinks and food wrappings. I lost her on the second trip and meandered along behind Tesco's in a really pretty park picking up what I could see/reach in the bushes.
I'm aware that my two hours probably didn't make that much of an impact, this particular litter pick only happens once a year. It was nice to see people coming together for this event, maybe meet some new people, can't be a bad thing.

Urban Poetry

It's been a busy seven weeks working in Amersham and haven't been updating as much as I'd have liked in March. Working further south gave me an excellent opportunity to FINALLY go and watch my lovely friend, Reubs, play a gig in High Wycome.

Reubs goes by the artist name of Soul and does hip hop, rap, poetry, life inspired music. He's been making his music for as long as I've know him and he loves it! He's done so much stuff towards his music, he got funding to make a professional music video for his single 'My Life', got on BBC Introducing, plays loads of gigs from the SnoZone in Milton Keynes to venues in Camden. He's on a plethora of social networking sites, including SoundCloud which has his tracks up for anyone to have a little listen too. I like 'Raindrops' and also 'War on a Dance Floor' - which he doesn't seem to have anywhere on his music sites.
